Personalized Photos

Remember this post, where I shared the background story of the personalized photographs that I create?

Well, here are some more photos that I've done since then

(click the picture to see them larger)

And in another custom order, I created an entire name with the alphabet photos. Photos are attached to a white canvas with a black ribbon running along the entire canvas. I love how it turned out!

{I apologize that the photo quality is poor & a little hard to read. I was in a rush when I took it. The name is "NURPER"}

If you would like your to have a Personalized Alphabet photo created, feel free to contact me or go to my Etsy Shop.

Confessional Prayer

During church yesterday, we read a confessional prayer.
It's a bit long, but the words are powerful & truthful. And I'd like to share them with you

Leader: Holy and righteous God, we confess that like Isaiah, we are a people of unclean lips. But it is not only unclean lips we possess. We are people with unclean hands and unclean hearts. We have broken your law times without number, and are guilty of pride, unbelief, self-centeredness and idolatry. Affect our hearts with the severity of our sin and the glory of your righteousness as we now acknowledge our sins in your holy presence.

Leader: We have had other gods before you.

People: We have worshipped and served the creature rather than the creator.

We have sought satisfaction in this world’s pleasures rather than in You.

We have loved to praise our own glory more than yours.

Leader: We have taken your name in vain.

People: We have prayed religious prayers to impress others.

We have uttered your name countless times without reverence or love.

We have listened to others use your name in vain without grieving.

Leader: We have murdered in our hearts.

People: We have often destroyed our neighbor with our tongues.

We have been quick to uncharitably judge others.

We have considered revenge when we were sinned against.

Leader: We have committed adultery with our eyes.

People: We have loved temptation rather than fighting it.

We have lusted after unlawful and immoral pleasures.

We have justified our lusts by using the world as our standard.

Leader: We have stolen what is not ours and coveted what belongs to others.

People: Our lives overflow with discontent, ungratefulness, and envy.

We have complained in the midst of Your abundant provision.

We have sought to exalt ourselves through owning more.

Leader: We have lied to you and to others.

People: We have told distorted truths, half-truths, and untruths.

We have despised the truth to make ourselves look better.

Even in our confession, we look for ways to hide our guilt.

Leader: O God, we have sinned against your mercy times without number. We are ashamed to lift up our faces before you, for our iniquities have gone over our heads. If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? How shall we answer you? We lay our hands on our mouths. We have no answer to your righteous wrath and just judgment.

People: We have no answer. But God Himself has mercifully provided one for us.

Leader: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

How To - Displaying Your Favorite Cards

If you've read this blog for long, you know I love getting cards. And every once in a while, I will get a card that I love too much to throw away (pack rat, anyone?).

The problem is I
quickly run out of flat space to prop them up. But it doesn't do any good to have them sit in a box either.

So I came up with another to display my favorite cards. And you can too!

You need a frame that will hang on the wall. Any size frame will do. I found one I was no longer using that measures approximately 16x20.

Take out any pictures in the frame and remove the glass. You won't need it for this project.

You now need to find something to attach the cards to. I went through my ribbon stash to find a handful that worked well together. If ribbon isn't your thing, you could use string or fabric or even wire. Be creative!

Plan out your color palate. I decided to go with a blues & greens.

Cut the ribbon longer than the fram, allowing extra room on either end

Using tape or glue, secure one end of the ribbon to the back of your frame. To add interest, I spaced the ribbons unevenly across the frame (no ruler needed!).

With one end of the ribbon secure, cut the other end short enough to not hang over the edge, but long enough to still be taped to the frame

Once both ends are securely taped, you're ready to hang it!

I decided to cut the covers off the cards. If you would like to keep the card intact, you can. I wanted a cleaner look.

After cutting the cards, figure out how you want the cards spaced within the frame

To change out your cards as often as you'd like, they can be attached several ways: with a fun paper clip, with poster putty, or with double sided tape.

Once done, you'll have a creative piece of art hanging on your wall!

***sorry about the poor photo quality, I took these at night***
